I draw and paint plants, usually from direct observation. I am interested in the emotional charge each work creates, believing that the unconscious will play a significant role in its outcome.

I graduated from Central Saint Martin’s in 2006 with a MA in Fine Art, having studied art history at Sussex University in the late 70s before working for the RA and Tate Gallery.

I exhibit regularly in this country and abroad. From 2004 to 2007, I was commissioned to paint a number of watercolours of plants at Highgrove for HRH The Prince of Wales Foundation which were displayed at the Garden Museum last year after being shown in the US at the Huntington Institute and in New York. In 2007, I was elected member of the Royal Watercolour Society whose members include Sir Peter Blake, Anthony Eyton and Sonia Lawson. My work has toured extensively to America, Europe and the Far East as part of the Shirley Sherwood Collection.
